When it comes to video production, here at FilmStory, we believe that at the end of the day, equipment is secondary to story, in ALL aspects. With that being said, we’ve categorized what we feel is the general standard for production equipment for each type of content creator:

 

  • Please note, camera selection is based on our experience of using Canon cameras. You use what you can regardless of the name brand

 

  • The Social Media Single Person user:

    • Mobile Smart Phone

    • Rode Smart Lav Video Mic

    • Ring Light

  • The Beginning Videographer:

    • Canon t5i

    • Manfrotto Tripod

    • Tascam DR10L

    • Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Intermediate Videographer:

    • Canon 70D

    • Tripod(s)

    • Sennheiser g3 Wireless microphones

    • Softbox Lights or LED Lights with Diffusion

    • Glidecam / 3 Axis Gimbal

    • iMac - Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Expert Videographer

    • A possible team of two other videographers

    • Canon 1DX Mark II - 1 or 2 other cameras

    • Tripod(s)

    • Sennheiser g3 Wireless microphones / Shotgun Mic & Boom Pole

    • Zoom H6 Recorder

    • Softbox Lights or LED Lights with Diffusion

    • Glidecam / 3 Axis Gimbal

    • iMac - Adobe Creative Cloud
